ERROR: Serial Number is not registered to your account

I bought SPM through steam yesterday played a couple of turns last night. Now I want to make my turn and I receive Error-Message: serial number is not registred to your account.
Anything I can do?

I have the same issue and error regarding serial number. Can not enter multiplayer - please resolve - Rich

I also purchased from steam and am having the exact same issue. "Serial number not registered to your account" whenever I try to enter multiplayer. Where is this serial number and how do I register it to my account? Playing a game shouldn't require all this hassle.

same thing here, the strangest part is that multiplayer and the contest worked for a few hours before giving the serial error.
I wonder if there's anything to do with the unified account they use in this site, because before it stopped working I had logged in here just to be annoyed with that merge account thing, i wonder if that damaged something.

Apologies for the inconveniences. Indeed, there seems to be an issue with the PBEM server, which the folks at Slitherine are going to fix as soon as possible.

Please uninstall the game, reinstall it and check if the issue persists.

Not sure if this helps to fix the problem but I hit the merge "unified account" button too

Please download the file attached in this post.
Unzip it and run it. This will delete some of the keys related with the game in the Windows registry.
After doing this, start the game and check if the issue persists.

we are still unable to repeat but we've tried a temporary workaround on the server to see if it helps. Can you retry and let us know if it works?

It seems that the workaround solved my problem. But anyway I downloaded the regedit file and let the changes made and it still works :wink:
