Have a problem... Cannot get past the screen that says it is loading assets the first time... let it sit for an hour and nothing.. tried reloading, deleting and reinstalling.. same issue.

I do have the game installed on an external 4tb usb 3.0 drive and have no problems with anything else but that is the only thing I can think of different on my system...

I am using an Asus G75vw gaming laptop with Nvidia GTX 670M video. It has 16gig mem and is quad core i-7 processor..

That's very odd! A few questions so that I can understand the issue a bit better:

1) How far do you get into this screen? I mean, how many resources do you manage to load?
2) Which resolution are you running the game at?

Zero (0) out of 20. Never goes past it.

1980/1020 normally but when I first run a game I leave it at default so whatever that is on first load...

I'm having the same problem. I was able to start the game a couple of times, but the video card broke. I can't get the game to start with the new video card.

Have you tried to install the game in a different location that than the default one in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\.....

Nope will give that a try... kinda wondered myself if that might do it... Will do so tonight and try again... depends on the install because I have a very slow limited internet connection and sometimes steam does not like to use the files already downloaded once you move them..

OK moved the game to the C: steam folder for now... It was on a USB 3.0 external drive as mentioned.. Anyhow, after the move it completed the load process and works as it is supposed to... played a while without any issues...

So there is something with it not liking to be on external drives that needs to be addressed apparently...

It might be related with permissions, security programs or something in your Windows configuration.
