I remember during the EAP the windowed mode was not stable. is it stable now?

I don't think you should have any issues with windowed mode to be honest. I've used it here extensively when writing the game manual and taking screenshots and didn't experience any issues. Though please do let us know if you find any problems.

I've been playing in nothing but windowed mode with no issues. Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Same thing here, I always played on windowed mode, Win7 64, and never had problems with it.
