Page 42 of the manual states in the text that troops take a cohesion test if they suffer >5% SHOOTING casualities. However the chart indicates >8%. Which is correct, >5% or >8%?

No error.

Units take a cohesion test if they suffer > 5% total shooting casualties in a turn.

They have a -1 modifier on that test if they have suffered >8% shooting casualties.

As more units fire at the same unit in a turn, once over the 5% threshold it will test each time it is shot at by another unit. However, as the same random factor is retained for the unit for all cohesion tests from shooting in a turn, the result will be the same unless there are additional modifiers - such as the total shooting casualties in the turn going over 8%, or the unit being shot at by artillery. If there are now additional modifiers, the result may be different.

Residual shooting casualties are assumed to be part of the previous turn's shooting, and cohesion tests are taken accordingly.

Are the over 25% and over 50% cumulative? Obviously if a units suffers over 50% thay have already suffered over 25%. So when a unit that has taken over 50% losses is required to make a cohesion test is 2 subtracted from their dice roll?

Correct. Of course Average and Raw troops will already have Autobroken by then.
