That would be great Conrad.
I have 2 25mm DBM armies that could be used, but the lists are not yet available for them. I am not averse to 15mm so would be willing to give that a go.
White Knight, I may well pop along on April 17th and have a look.
regards
Paul

Hello to all the devon, dorset, somerset and hants FOG Brigade!
All welcome at Dorchester on Thurs 17th...its 1000pts Storm of Arrows...Germans vs Italians, 25mm, meet 6.30 aim to start 7.00ish.
Kevin...my table at home is 5x3 so good for 650-800 pt 15mm games...any of the rest of the group welcome to pop round, too. I am a teacher and am on hollys 14th-18th inc and could be free daytimes as well as evenings.
Anyone else fancy the comp in Birmingham? Have booked places for myself and a mate so far and the show as a games show gets a good write-up.

Unfortunately not. I am already committed to playing at Chester in the 25mm 6th edition tournament at Gauntlet.

Blimey, Paul! Didn't know anyone was still playing wrg 6th edition! With all its many faults, it was my favourite rule set 'til FOG came out...may still have a v battered copy with a motheaten QRS. In fact all my 25mm armies date from those days and many are still single figure based!

Hi Martin,
25mm 6th edition still has quite a strong following in the UK. The yahoo group has about 160 members and the biggest 6th edition competition at Derby has over 40 players. Things have changed a lot from the bad old days as we all know eachother and the forms of gamesmanship that spoiled it for many are definitely frowned upon.
It seems to me that FOG has borrowed a lot from 6th and I look forward to seeing it work in practise.
regards
Paul (an unrepentant 6th edition dinosaur!)

Hi Chaps!!
Im now back in Poole!! So if anyone would like to meet up and game give me a shout I have my own car so im good to travel. Works fairly busy but I im sure I could squeeze a game or two in.
Im afraid I still dont have an army as im just getting into ancients and I dont want to waste money on an army I dont like.
Had my first proper game on monday, enjoyed it so I wouldnt mind trying to keep the momentum going
Also does anyone know of a club that meets in the week?
When does the Reigate club meet? (You were recommended as a decent bunch to game/learn with)
Anyone got any meets planned for FOG?
Many Thanks
Conrad

Hi Conrad
Now two clubs playing FOG that may be in your travel zone.
At Dorchester, Thursday 15th May 6.30- 11.00ish, Dorchester Wargames Group, Wessex Royale Hotel (bar), a late Roman Empire game in 25mm, with the guys from the Bournemouth area coming up.
Near Yeovil, Weds 21st May 6.30-10.30,South Somerset Wargames Club, "Skittles" (bar), West Coker, Sassanid Persian vs Byzantine game in 25mm and a Samurai game, too.
Email me on
hayesmartin@hotmail.com and I'll give you further details. Happy to travel down to Poole for a game and equally happy for you to come up to me in Yeovil. I have a few armies in both main scales and would be pleased to "hire them out", no fee!!!
Hear from you soon
