Hello,
this game is,from my standpoint close to perfect with 1 exeption, the unitgraphics .
You cant not really see the Units itself, only a mass of things.
My Suggestion a group of 4 Units, maybe as an option, would be fine.
Maybe like this :

If this would be possible i would maybe create scenarios for this game.

We have chosen not to display the units like that:
1) Because we want to convey the feeling of a large battle, which that style of unit display does not do.
2) Because we wanted to make the graphics look like contemporary battle depictions.

Ok Scott,
i think the graphics are not really a Problem, it will take 1 or 2 weeks to use to it for me and
afterwards it will be no Problem anymore.
Let me say this game is a hammer. It is very good and careful work !
Thank you againe.

Can I just say that I think you have achieved EXACTLY the right effect with the unit graphics. I've been lobbying a certain boardgame company who make what I feel is the definitive pike and shot boardgame system to use such a depiction for their counter graphics. Something they've been extremely resistant to. Your choice underscores how much more atmospheric the woodcut engraving idea can be. Well done!

+1 on the unit graphics.
As RBS said they work well to show the scope of a large battle and the formations used at the time. I like the idea that the units look like depictions on contemporary maps, etc. Perhaps critics of the graphics are too used to the individual figure approach or say the Total war series. Also has a side benefit of a smaller download and more power available for the game engine vs the graphics.
Kudos for going representational!!

I would like express great enthusiasm for the game's unit graphics.
I do wish that I could see the figures more close-up. Is there any way to implement more "zoom in" so that we can see how these soldiers look up close.

I am quite pleased with the graphics; they convey a "period" feel.

You can change ZOOMINLIMIT in Mapview.txt in \PikeandShot\Data. We recommend chaning to no lower than 200. In fact we shall be doing this in the first patch.
The units are not designed to be looked up closer - they are not in fact made of individual soldiers.
(Make a backup of the file first, so you can revert to the standard settings if you want)
