Russians 1812 (Infantry)

In the Russian list, it says a minimum of 3 infantry units and 1 battery of artillery per division. The list minimums make it 3 units of
Infantry (4 flats of poor and 8 flats of drilled), 4 flats of Jager and 3 flats of artillery.
I'm not a gamer who calculates every little advantage to squeeze out the biggest bang for the buck. But I know Russian troops and need some
assemblance of order. Since regiments are 2 battalions, do I consider each unit a regiment or brigade? Considering the Russians were NOT up to strength
so a unit considered a brigade is not too far fetched.
I would like to run a division as 3 units (2 infantry & 1 Jager) w/ artillery. But that fourth unit in the minimums sticks out.
Also, the minimums and maximums used, are they specifically for EACH division or is this for the whole corp?
