Slitherine

BA 2 freezes when I click on load option. If I play a skirmish or begin a campaign and attempt to go the save screen the game freezes. I've been playing for weeks and no problems. I'm hoping there is an easy fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please try with you security programs (anti-virus, firewall, etc.) temporarily disabled. They might be interfering.

I have checked for any anti virus or anything running in the background. No success there. I have reinstalled the game and it still freezes when I attempt to go to the load screen. I originally saw an error message that said "Fatal application exit". Any help would be appreciated. I saw this before I reinstalled the game via steam. I am real close to giving up hope.

Are you login to Windows as an administrator?

Yes I am logged in as administrator.

BA 2 freezes on me when I try to click on options or load. Very odd. Just my luck. In your opinion would I have a similar problem with Pike and Shot. I have been anxiously waiting for it but can't take the chance of similar problems. I think it's the same engine. Of course I did get to play BA2 for a couple weeks before this problem occurred. It just seems like a gamble to buy Pike and Shot.

I can tell you, from many years of experience as a customer and beta tester with Slitherine, that it's no gamble. All of these little problems get solved; it just takes a bit of perseverance. Rest assured that Slitherine won't let you down. I had some initial issues with BA2 when I loaded it into my laptop (no probs on the desktop unit I also have) but it turned out to be...you might have guessed it; the virus checker. I actually dumped AVG on the laptop, went to Mcafee, and problem solved.

Just give the techs everything you can in the way of information about your platform, error logs, any observations and they'll figure it out.

Please try the following:
Open the folder ....Documents\My Games\ and rename the folder BA2 to BA2_OLD.
Start a new game, try to save it and check if the issue persists.

Success. It works. You have made me a happy man. Very happy. I am addicted to this game and I can't wait to try out Pike and Shot.
