July 1941 -- German armoured forces have driven deep into Russian territory on the direct route to Moscow. Enormous Soviet forces have been encircled.
German units are now exploiting towards Smolensk on the Moscow highway. Resistance has been stiffening and German air recon reports Soviet armour assembling in the area.
Both sides will get some reinforcements. The battle is 18 turns and can end in a Draw.

In this scenario you will find some new models not included in the original BA or BA2. Some scripts and unit stats have been tweaked and new features added. Among the new features are Leaders, units which have the ability to Rally units near them. You will also find that engineers/sappers and some tanks (strong enough) can remove wall sections. In addition, engineers/sappers have the ability to remove tank traps (no tank traps in this scenario though).

Thanks to Enric and Amaris for their many scripts! And a special thanks to Amaris for his help creating some new models! And thanks to Morge4, Collier4 and Pomakli for helping me playtest the scenario!

Following the encirclement of the Sixth Army at Stalingrad, the Germans launched a relief effort from the bridgehead at Nizhna Chirskaya, 25 miles from the nearest troops of the Sixth Army. But at Sovkhoz 79 the Soviets put up a defence. Both sides will get reinforcements. The battle is 15 turns and can end in a Draw.

I'll save the feedback until I have time to work on the scenarios again. Those of you who have this beta already, thanks for all your help this far. There are no new updates in this map pack. ***

Pip, you're already falling behind on new downloadable content versus the modders, haha :mrgreen:

Hello:

Need some help please.
1. When I click on the link I just get text on a webpage.
2. When I can download it, do I place it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Battle Academy 2\Campaigns folder?

Thanks,

Gerry

You should never install mods into your install folder - all mods live in My Documents/My Games/BA2 in the appropriate CAMPAIGN or MULTIPLAER folder. However - there is an ingame download and install approach - and this uses the LST file as you see above. Simply follow the user campaigns button on the campaign screen (top left) and then use the top right button to open an edit box - paste the link in there and hit OK. It will download the list and add them to the roster of missions in the list. You can then download the mission(s) as you desire and they will be installed to the My Docs folder.

Cheers

Pip

Thanks Pip.

Have downloaded successfully. I can accept challenges for it in MP.

However I don't see it show up in any list where the other campaigns are on the BA2 screens (i.e. not the MP screen)? Shouldn't it?

To avoid the icon too large on some units you must modify the UI.BSF, I'll post some new scenarios with all scripts ready for BA2 soon, but if you would like to avoid this issue in you scenario just modify the indicated file.

FUNCTION DrawSelectedUI(me)

change RenderUnitIcon(me, -49, 616, 218, 218) ;

line 330 for RenderUnitIcon(me, 0, 635, 120, 120) ;

FUNCTION DrawTargetUI(me, target)

486 RenderUnitIcon(target, 856, 616, 120, 120) ;

The lines are a reference may change in your script file.
This could be improved yet but for now it works.

How close do the leaders have to be to rally troops and does it happen automatically or do you choose the troops to be affected, etc.?

Also is it using a custom map?

Thanks for the scenario.

There is some formula for the distance. 3 or 4 squares away in the open, and 1-2 squares away in rougher terrain (like buildings too).

There is an action button, like choosing to fire, to rally 1 specific unit. It will cost nearly all your action points, so you may want to try it before moving, so you see how it goes. I believe it takes 20 AP, leaving 4 for a 1-square move..

Thanks for the info, Enric :D
So far I've not cared much about such cosmetic details, been waiting for you scripting wizards to release some scenarios and then copy the code :wink:

I think your are quite correct, Jcb. The Leader must have LOS to the unit being rallied.

Thanks for the scenario.
Yes it's a custom map. The scenario is an adaption of a tabletop scenario.

Hope you'll will like it and have a good time playing.

Been a bit occupied with the FGH'40 tournament plus I've started working on another BA2 scenario :roll: (I sent you the link, didn't I? Back to GJS battleground again... :mrgreen: )
But I could make some adjustments and upload it here for someone to beta test.

Just wondering. It was fun but was a bit unbalanced.

Yes, you sent me the new BA2 GJS style game. Playing against JCB. :shock:
