Basing Commanders

I'm basing my commanders for my 25mm Gallic army.
I have my CinC riding a horse on a 60x40mm base.

I have my Troop commanders on foot and based on a 60x20mm base and one on a 60x30mm base. So that they can join the HF and MF battle groups.

Is that OK ?

That's fine. The max depth of a 25mm general's base is 60mm (i.e. it can be mounted on a 60x60mm base). However, it can be less if you wish.

I tend to mount my generals on the larger base sizes because it's then easy to pick out the generals, but it's entirely your call.

So for 15 mm Figures C in C and TC + FC if mounted on a 40 by 40 base and for TC or FC if on Foot 40 by 30 bases, so you can pick them out of line.

Several people seem to be working on generals all on 40 by 40 bases with a couple of mouted figures for a TC, two mounted and a foot for an FC and a mini diorama of 4 or more figures for an IC.

Of course good old DBM generals are fine if you don't want to rebase.

For my Swiss I had 4 left over Gerdarme command.
2 on a 40x40mm base Head guy.
1 on a 40x40mm base Flunky.

I know what they should be (pike and halbeders) but so what, I had the figs. I may use the for my Holy Roman empire army.

My 28mm Samurai: Everyone is on a 60x60mm base (too many cool little command sets from Perry).
My 15mm Romans I will probsbly keep 40x40mm base and just but more figs for command. Depends what I have left from my Old Glory Roman command bag.
