I am trying to run BA2 under WINE. I /think/ I figured out why it won't run. I am getting a resolution error. Something to the effect of "No Compatible Resolution can be found." I have BA1 running fine with 1920X1080 and 16BPP. BA2 is looking for 1920X1080X24 (24BPP?). Now, I've seen some helpful comments talking about tweaking the OPTIONS.TXT file in My Games/BA2. Unfortunatly, the file is not there. I see the BA2 folder and sub folders but the OPTIONS.TXT file is missing. Can anyone post the contents of their file? If nothing else, it will give me something to work with.

Also, is there another way to hard set (command line switch?) the resolution to start with?

Thanks VPaulus! I've spotted something already.

Use16Bit is set to 0. Set to 1 may fix my issue. That and RezX and RezY settings.

I am happy to report that I can at least bring up the splash screen.

I will test further tonight. WINE Apparently will run it at the highest setting while the game really runs on my system in 16Bit color. Full Screen setting can be kept on.

I played through the tutorial and the first mission of Barbarossa without issue.

I did have to doungrade my monitor from 1920X1050 to 1650X900(?) because the graphics on units would not load. The game did run faster and more smoothly after that though. I guess the detail on the units are higher in BA2 than in BA1.

You can always try 1920X1050 in windowed mode
