Suggestions for Full Game

Got the game Monday in the Midwest U.S. and like it a lot. I also have a couple of suggestions.

I usually don't play music in games so I turned it all the way down. Little did I know that it also cut out all the speech in the game! Can the speech be made seperate from the music so that we don't miss out on the storyline if we turn the music off?

And how about greying out the Equipment button if you don't have enough money to buy things please? 8)

I couldn't find any info on how many squads a leader can command as he progresses in ability. I bought some units only to discover that they didn't show up on the next field because I didn't know that the leader couldn't command any more than he already was commanding. :?

Thanks....fun game! :o

Welcome to the forums, I like your nick!!!!

About the music/speech, I don't have the full game (yet) but I thought it was possible to mix speech/music separately. Even if it's not possible, subtitles are available (for non-english speaking people like me  ), so you can read on.

Bye

There is no way to play speech but not music, as they are the same thing as far as the game is concerned. What you could do is just rename the data/music directory so it doesn't find the music files and it will only play the speech. It works here for me, but I can't guarantee it will work for you!

Equipment is tricky to grey out as there are many options to choose from. It's not impossible, it's just not set up to do it that way.

The general can command 30 squads though only 20 can be in any one battle. You may just have forgotten to deploy them, or the scenario may limit how many squads you can bring. Check the bottom right of the deployment screen to see how many squads this scenario allows.

And make use of the handy "Deploy All" button at the bottom of the deploy squad list :)

I have played the demo game three time now so I am getting a feel for the way things work.

It seems strange that I have to get the general involved in combat for him to improve. Perhaps having the generals experice increa as an average of the units engaged would be better?

I agree! The manual warns of the risks involved in using leaders in combat, but the only way to advance their abilities is to....use a leader in combat! :?

I use them mainly to attack the rear of units already engaged, and when its pretty safe to do so :D That way you pick up the bonuses cheaply
