Mounted Crossbow

Recently reading a number of medieval scholars including I think David Nicolle. They suggest that Mounted Crossbow never fired mounted. And the term is more apt to describe mounted infantry who would dismount to fire.

And thinking about it reloading a crossbow while mounted is at a minimum going to impede your rate of fire if its even possible.

I know we are not changing rules.

Does anyone have more data on the actual tactics of say renaissance mounted crossbow. Or the more extensive use of crossbows in say Sweden and Poland?

I am not aware of any evidence of crossbowmen firing mounted in any battle after about 1480. They might have fired mounted in raids or skirmishes. There may be some evidence but in my 40+ years of reading on the subject I have not come across any primary source that mentions it.
