Hi, in the interests of getting a run with some of my armies for which there are yet no beta-lists, I have translated the DBM equivalent on a best-guess basis. I'd be interested in any comments.
Tamils
Generals- IC/FC/TC
Elephants- 4-10
Swordsmen- MF, protected, average, undrilled, impact foot, swordsmen, 8-12 bases per BG, 12-48 bases total.
Archers- MF, unprotected, average, undrilled, bow, 6-8 bases per BG, 12-24 bases total
Skirmishers- LF, unprotected, average, undrilled, bow, 6-8 bases per BG, 0-12 bases total
Allies as appropriate for specific tribes.

Seems a good starting point to me. It will be an interesting army with the IF en-masse with El. Give it a try and let us know how it goes on the AAR section.

Richard,
What are you thinking for territory types? Agricultural, Developed, and Woodlands?

Agricultural and woodlands seem to be the obvious ones. But with no mounted in the army I suspect the Tamils won't win the initiative too often

That does suggest the need for a Field commander and possibly an inspried commander. Both better asset with a bunch of undrilled foot.

Obviously tropical would be a suitable terrain type too.

One suggestion is that as the swordsmen only have a small buckler they should be unprotected.
This is probably more realistic. Makes the whole army damn vulnerable to missile fire tho!

Live by the bow, die by the bow
Richard,
I think it would be great if you could now put this in the pretty format like Pete did for the Qin.

When you're ready run it in against the Portly Geezers - you know it makes sense!

Only if you deploy your knights in front of my jumbos!
