Quick play sheet?

Hi All

Just got my book and busy reading but I was wondering if Slitherine / Osprey will be putting a quick play reference sheet up for down load on the web site?

Page 173 -175 should do the trick and I would have thought they could fit it on two pages so just one sheet.

So any chance?

Thanks

JP

We have been reviewing this point, and would be happy to work with anyone who wants to creat a version. We will add the necessary art and upload it to the FoG site

Drop me a PM if interested

Now the rules are out, and from all reports just about all existing gamers have already ordered their copies, there are no excuses!

QRS ASAP pretty please.

Otherwise I will just have to do my own.

Hi All

I think a QRS sheet is absolutley key as everyone I play with has asked this as soon as they see the rules.

It would be useful if the type size was 11 or 12 pitch for those with old eyes.

Great job on the rules set indexing. First test play and able to find all queries using the tab index and full index.

Dest laid out set of rules I have ever purchased.

Storm or Arrows great too.

Guglielmo Marlia also made this point too with the beta playsheets. As one's eyes get older,
the type size gets harder to read!

I suppose ideally you need a pdf printable to A3 or A4.

I can just picture all the balding grey-beards with their thick glasses struggling to hold and read their A3 play sheets. (Now that is what I call table clutter).

(Memo: Special rigid A3 play-sheets required for one-armed balding grey-beards who cannot manage to hold their flexible A3 play-sheets steady with one hand).

(Memo: Print 6"x4" play-sheets which can also be used as cloths. "Mind if I move your pikemen a minute so I can check the POAs for artillery?").

(P.S. I speak as a balding grey-beard with glasses who was effectively one armed last year due to wrist fracture.)

I am looking at knocking something togeter today. I am not sure that everything needed will fit in a decent font on a doubles sided A4 so am looking at probably three sheets, one for movement, one for combat and one for other bits.

I'm pleased that the QRS suggestion has been adopted as I and others suggested some time ago:-)
May I suggest that it follow similar lines to that available for Beta testers? i.e. coloured with one page for combat, POA's etc, another for movement and cohesion tests and the final one could cover terrain, and game setup etc?
It sounds as though Hammy is on the case! Well done that man!

Suggestion re any QRS. Drop the turn sequence as it exists on the beta QRSs. It is not detailed enough to be useful, i.e. App 8 is one of the most useful references to have by your side and the short version is so small that it is learned very quickly so the space may be better used.

As your, now retired, colleague Dr Douglas once said to me, "I can tell I need glasses, my arms aren't long enough anymore."
(P.S. I speak as a balding grey-beard with glasses who was effectively one armed last year due to wrist fracture.)
I leave that one to Jeremy's incomparable skills ;)

Since Jeremy probably doesn't read this board, I will save him the trouble.

Yes, it was that hand. (But that isn't how I broke it).

Thanks Hammy

Sheets with specific functions is great. 3 sheets OK with me.

Some colour would be useful, perhaps matching in some way the rules tab colours? But it will also need to print OK in B+W..

Thanks

Ideas for what people would like on the QRS are welcome.

At the moment I am intending doing the following tables:

how many dice,
POAs,
death roll,
shooting ranges,
maneuver table,
CMT,
variable move
cohesion test
quality reroll

I am trying to get it to fit in a decent sized font so the POA table may end up as a whole page in itself with how many dice, ranges, rerolls and Cohesion on the next sheet and then maneuver and CMTs on another sheet.

I am not intending doing a sheet for setup as that only needs to be looked at right at the start of the game.

I may put a full sequence of play down the edge of the maneuver sheet if that will fit nicely.

I think quality reroll and variable move are not important(no detail), and that death roll is low importance (little detail)
More important than these is Command Range, Terrain effects[ visability, shooting].
High importance is Move distance.
