hm i did the Mercury capsule and i didn't get it..

Suborbital. Although it's a type of goal we call "cancelled", because you don't achieve it by running a mission, but by completing a more specific goal. For example, by achieving the "Mercury suborbital flight", you get the "Man in space" goal for free.

Also, notice the "Man in space" is a "generic goal". These types of goals were introduced in order to make things comparable for the race to the Moon campaign, since it's easier to evaluate your progress against the other faction if there's a set of common goals that can be achieved by all space agencies.

Thanks, I'll double-check it.

EDIT:
Checked with the Vostok. I completed vostok suborbital, but the end mission screen did not show that I got this goal. The pre-mission screen DID show that i would get this if i completed Vostok suborbital. So yeah, we have a bug.

I'll add it to asana with my vostok save.
