Medieval Civil Wars?

Does anyone know of any "Civil Wars" from the medieval period. What I'm looking for is a turbulent setting with a number of factions whose land ownership is all mixed up together rather than in large solid blocks. It does not necessarily need to be a civil war, but civil wars probably fit the criteria well. Anyone got any suggestions?

What about the situation in Scotland following the death of the Bruce when the Baliols came back into power for a while due to English support.

King John's Baronial Wars and De Monfort spring to mind too.

Didn't Richard the Lionheart have a dust up with his dad too ?

Actually all of Henry te Seconds sons had a go at him and each other. Not to mention he was always having trouble with his wife too. It is great to be the King!!

What about the Battle of Shrewsbury...I'm assuming the Percy Rebellion could count as a civil war (with some Scots and Welsh thrown in for good measure)

Also Henry III and Simon de Montefort, lots of battle there, though mostly I think in France with Henry trying to keep control of his French lands

France before the 13th century when I think the Valois took control of the throne.

Germany on a regular basis (neither Holy, Roman or an Empire).

Italy before or during the rise of the Condotta. Perhaps a bit more geographically compact factions.

Ireland early 15th century with the various predominantly anglo-irish lords, with a few irish and english types.
