The latest update for SPM is now available! Please download it directly from the Matrix FTP at ftp://beta.matrixgames.com . When prompted, please specify the following username and password: SPMBetaTester/SpmBeta1114. I strongly recommend you to download the file using filezilla.

Inside the FTP you will find an installer file named SPM-Windows-Slitherine-0-7-22.exe, just download it and run it in order to overwrite the contents of your current installation folder.

This update includes bugfixes and new animations for robotic missions. Make sure you check the full changelog here to get a complete overview of this release.

Is there anything you can do about the false positives Avast and Win 8 Smart Screen give for the last few patches. Started a few patches ago and it really is a pain in the donkey.

Ouch, wasn't even aware of this problem! So you get this issue with the installer or with the game's executable?

I had the same issue... I had to turn Avast off during download.

Avast alert and auto quarantine (have found no way around it other than to turn it off) triggered on download and install. Win 8 Smart screen on running the exe.
The annoying part is that e.g. I turn off avast 1 hour for the always really slow download) and then I forget to check if its switched back on when the download is done and it triggeres and deletes the file on install... aaaaaaaaaaand then I start over again... wait an hour for the download etc...

Apologies for the inconvenience, not sure what's going on since I keep using the same installer system I began using when we switched to the manual patches. A quick google search is not revealing any hints either.

I'd say that, for the moment, bear with us. The manual patches are going to be discontinued soon anyway, once we introduce the PBEM functionality. From that day onwards, all updates will be provided via the auto-updater tool, so you won't experience this problem again.

Hello evertonian,

When you say the "Update utility", you mean the one featured in the game's launcher? If that's the case, don't worry, as the latest patch provided via the auto-updater tool is not the latest one.
