Extreme long AI turns

Hello everyone,

This week I bought my dad this game for his birthday, but he keeps running into a problem. As the game progresses the AI turns start taking quite a while to finish. Up to this point (turn 11) it takes almost 9 to 10 minutes for a turn to finish. (the AI seems to 'freeze' on 'deciding moves'). It kinda makes the game impossible to play against AI (and unfortunately we don't have hotseat or LAN) so I was hoping someone here has a solution.

Specifications of the laptop:

Intel i7-2670QM 2.20 GHz
6.00 GB ram
NVIDIA Geforce GT540M
Windows 7 Home Premium

If anyone has a solution, please let me know :D

Regards,
Sjaars

You might try to report this in the: "Call for slow AI saves" thread by Johnny bravo (he is the go to guy for these problems), which is listed in the topics window.

Ah thanks, I saw the topic but figured it would be inactive since it dates back to May. I'll give it a try though thank you.

I do know this: That the problem you are having has been discussed over at the Matrix forum by a number of members and is high up on the list of fixes that should be coming out in the soon to be released patch 1.50. In your case, I hope it get's resolved along with the others. I'm a bit surprised it had not been taken care of sooner.

Yeah me too, when I read back on the forums how long ago it was when this problem was reported by others. Do you know if there is a way to play against yourself without using 2 computers and buying another copy of the game? Like hotseat mode, or is that planned for a patch too?

Sorry, Hotseat, I do not think that's on the menu of stuff to be done. If you bought the box set, there should be an extra downloadable game included in the CTGW file. I 'm not sure if you can copy that, then send to another computer for an install. That's something Lord Zuma (?sp) could answer.

Unfortunately I bought the downloadable version as I live in Europe. I guess I should have read reviews better before purchasing. Thanks a lot for your help though :)

Is this patch available for Steam?
