Battle Academy 2 no longer runs..,.need help

I purchased Battle Academy 2 early release. It worked okay. I installed the upgrade (BattleAcademy2-EarlyAccess-0.1.5Update) and now it will not start. I am unable to find any technical support so I am posting here. I doubleclick the icon on the desktop and the screen goes black for less than a second and then the desktop returns. No game. On my bottom toolbar it shows the icon...means that it is supposedly there and running but it is an empty window thumbnail.
Anyhow can anyone point me to where I can seek help or information regarding this? Thank you.

I moved this to the BA2 forums. Are you running the very lastest version (this is 0.1.7, rather than the 0.1.5 as you note). Are you running offline (e.g. your machine is not connected to the internet?).

I only had 1.5. I uninstalled and reinsatlled only 1.1 and it runs. I am connected to the internet. I do hope that the game runs when not connected also. I am headed tonight to see my folks. I will be gone for 3 weeks and they do NOT have internet. I will now try to open the game and upgrade to 1.7

Too bad...version 0.1.7 also does not run. Am connected to the internet. same as 0.1.5...double click the icon...screen turns black for a second...the upgrade items window shows up (didn't in 1.5) and once I click ok there it just sends me back to the desktop. So I will now restart and uninstall and reinstall the first version. At least that runs for me.
Let me know if you want me to attach a dxdiag file or something.

Please post the contents of your error.log file (found in My Documents/My Games/BA2) immediately after the crash occurs.

That error log shows the game successfully starting and then exiting.

Yes, in a way it does start "successfully".
1. Game starts, I get a black screen for a couple of seconds. No sound either.
2. Game minimizes itself.
3. Any attempts to go back to fullscreen: Back to step 1.
4. I end the task the above error log is the result.
Tried:
-Reboot
-Reinstalled
-Effect is reproducible 100%

Ah - I see. It sounds like a video driver problem. What happens if you try and run in a window (open up the OPTIONS.TXT file in My Documents/My games/BA2 and change the fullscreen entry to 0). Hmmm - actually, check in that file also that the rezx and rezy values are set to a resolution your monitor supports. I have had some odd reports where version updates were messing with the screen resolution.

That fixed it! The "rezx" and "rezy" values were off. They were 4:3 aspect ratio but I have a 16:9 main screen and 4:3 secondary. Maybe something like that causes the problem? I just edited it to my native screen resolution and it worked. Thanks for your help Pip.

Sorry I have not had time to play. My father has been doing poorly and that has taken all my free time. But I set the fullscreen to zero and it works albeit only in the upper left corner of my screen. But that is better than nothing.
