Hello all,

I hope you're well. We would like to share with you some of the things we've been working on during the last few days.

Mauricio, our 3D artist, has been working on the renders for the PKA drop test mission (see some screenshots below). He's been also providing assistance by fixing some glitches to the existing renders that we caught while working on the animations. Boris, our UI and animation artist, has finished the animations clips for the Soyuz 7K-OK missions and is now working on the ones for Soyuz 7K-LOK (and nico7550 is helping him by converting the animations into the script files used by the game). Nicolas (N_Molson), who joined us over a month ago and is now working with us on a full-time basis, has been hard at work assembling the animation clips for the Soyuz 7K-OK and LK-700 missions, which involves assembling all the basic clips together depending on the mission configuration and integrating the background music and sound effects. As for myself, I have been fixing some minor bugs reported at the forums and continued making progress in the multiplayer functionality, which we'll begin testing internally very soon.

Have a nice weekend!

Cheers,

How would the muliplayer actually work with BASPM? wouldn't there have to be like a turn timer or like if one person clicks the end season button and then the other person clicks it the next season will begin?

Good question! :)

The game flow will be as follows:

1) Player A posts a game (or 'challenge') in the PBEM system.
2) Player B joins and begins playing the first turn (1955 Q1). When he's done, he presses the "End Turn" button and goes to the RD results screen, mission control screen, etc. He uploads his game to the PBEM server and is automatically redirected to the multiplayer lobby afterwards.
3) Player A now plays his turn (1955 Q1). Again, when he's done, he presses the "End Turn" button and goes to the RD results screen, mission control screen, etc. He uploads his game to the PBEM server and is automatically redirected to the multiplayer lobby afterwards.
4) Player B now resumes the game. In the news screen, if applicable, he'll get news items regarding the events that from the other faction. For example, player A managed to place a satellite in orbit (this won't happen right after the first turn, but you get the idea). He then proceeds to play the new turn (1955 Q2), presses "End Turn", watches the RD results, missions in progress and so on. He's then redirected to the PBEM server.
5) Player A now resumes the game. In the news screen, he will get the news items regarding the events that player B did in step 2 (i.e., 1955 Q1). He then proceeds to play the new turn (1955 Q2), presses "End Turn", etc.

and then the flow continues in a similar fashion. There are some interesting bits, such as the fact that Soviet players know everything that's going on on the other side, which resembles what happened in real life. There are lots of things to test and polish, so we have some interesting weeks ahead!

Cheers,

Hello Xiao,

Yes, it will require two serials. Notice that your serial is linked to your Slitherine's username, so the only way to play against your friend is by each one of you logging with your own user into the game.
