Why are the engineers not able to lay mines or have I missed something? Another surprising thing was that the infantry has no way of crossing a river. If special forces are landed in river terrain with the objective of taking hold of a bridge, one would assume that they had rubber boats dropped too to cross to the other side of the river. Now, in operation Husky, the only thing they can do is to commit suicide by trying to cross the bridge under heavy mg fire.

More differentiation may be neat. For the Husky bridge, the range difference was weird, but using the Bren's to lay down a base of fire.

I think BA is supposed to be an abstract game, and having amphibious frogmen/paratroops would be a bit complex to animate. Anyways paratroops are typically light infantry and the cargo space in the gliders would mostly be used for important stuff (materiel, transports etc.). Amphibious assaults would generally be executed by regular infantry, with the exception of Market Garden. I hope this helps!
