Another question: if a skirmish unit moves backwards up to half regular movement, does it have to retain the original facing or can it change its orientation at the end of the move? If it can orientation, does you treat it like a wheel? Thanks.

Skirmishers can move a full move forwards or backwards, ending facing either their original front or rear. It is assumed they move then turn around or turn around then move, so no wheeling is necessary.

Skirmishers while 2MU from enemy throughout can move half move any direction, facing. There are no wheels.

Thanks for replies. Perhaps I need to be more previce. There is a skirmished unit that is roughly 5MU away from an enemy unit. He wants to fall back away from the enemy by half or less than his movement. Reaching the new position, he would like the face to still face forwards, but would like to rotate the facing by 30 degrees. Is this possible?

You would have to:

a) turn skirmishers around facing away
b) move skirmishers, including a wheel into the angle you want to end
c) turn skirmishers back facing enemy
