At the Doubles 2014 the Field of Glory period is running with a new format this year:
15mm, open period, armies of 1050 points ,which must be made up as follows:
Each army is made up of 2 x 525 point armies, drawn from two separate lists
One army provides the CinC, the other must be from the allowed allies list for the main army.
Up to 3 generals per army, only one of whom (the CinC) can be an IC.
1 standard sized baggage camp per army.
Deployment order can be intermingled between armies
Command and control is as per the normal allied contingent rules
Each 525 point army has it's own independent break point, and the combined army also have an overall break point.
If one of a team's two armies loses sufficient AP's to be "broken", all non-routing units from that army take an immediate "half the army is broken" cohesion test.
Those that do not break as a result of these (and any consequent) tests remain in play and carry on,
Those that fail and break in this phase will each count a further 1AP towards the combined army break total.
The combined army then continues fighting until an overall army break is reached, or the game ends.
Routers from either contingent can always be rallied in the normal way at any point prior to a combined army break. All rallied routers will add back 2AP's to the overall army break point - even if they only caused 1AP losses by breaking in the the "half the army is broken" testing phase.
Final score is decided in the normal way except there will be an additional +5 for breaking each 525 point army (ie breaking the entire enemy army is worth +15 instead of +5)
