Hi!

I have just made full Panzer Corps latest patch installation on my new laptop and the animations just runs annoyingly slow. It really ruins gameplay. Some latency time when scrolling as well. No memory/CPU consuming/heavy applications running in the background save for Steam and Mozilla Firefox.

Check the "Movement Speed" slider in the Options menu.

The movement animations run rather smoothly save for a very short latency. The fire (and smoke from landing shells) animations, however, especially when shooting artillery, run in slow motion. Laptop power mode is set to high performance btw.

Please post a DxDiag report.

How to get a DxDiag file:

1. click on "START" (on Windows 8 Press "Windows Key" + "R" and go to 3)
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. open the text file, copy the contents, and post along with your issue.

I have checked a good few of the animations over and it is more and more obvious that only the smoke animations causes the game to run in slow motion. For example air unit taking heavy casualities, ground unit destroyed, landing shells etc etc. All other animations work fine.

I need to check DirectShow filters, Display drivers and Sound devices.

Open the folder and rename "Audio" to "_Audio".

The smoke generating animations still run slowish with the Audio folder renamed.

I haven't any clue for fixing what you are experiencing.
Is this only happening with the explosion animations?
Have you tried to play the game in windowed mode?

Tried windowed mode right now and I have also upgraded to Win 8.1, installed the latest DirectX and the problem persists. Any animation generating a smoke cloud takes 2-3 seconds to clear. All other animations run very smoothly. Maybe the firstmentioned animations are supposed to be that way eventough they never got my goat playing the game on my old computer. :/

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Do you solve it? I will downgrade to win7 there was no problem. Previously i think it is due to x86 vs x64. It is not i try WIN8 x64 and than x86

Dowgrade from WIN8 to WIN7. Confirming that smoke animations working correctly.
