Palmyrans

Hi All,
I'm trying to put together a list for Melee in two weeks time.
I'm thinking of shaking the dust of my Palmyrans and running them, the only problem is that I have few options and the army must have legionaries.
So here's a few questions:
1 - Can I still take the legionaries in 4's?
2 - What is the advantages now of Skilled Swordsmen?
3 - Can Cataphracts do anything?
I'm not particularly caring how the games go (I'm not into ancients any more I'm more going to support the comp) but naturally I'd like to put my best foot forward.
So, on an other bent, which army would you take:
Armys available are:
"Vikings" (pretty much all options... I mean, what options are there?) - I guess I could morph them into some other kind of Dark Ages army;
"Post Viking Scandanavians" (pretty much all options);
"Palmyrans" (Roman option only available);
"Syracusans" (you can stop laughing now - yes I'm not THAT suicidal);
Loan army of "War of the Roses - Yorkist Pretender"
