I hope this post is the result of paranoia brought on by too much war gaming in my old age. I played some test PBEM turns against myself. I noticed you can change the even/advantage settings at the start of a game. You can also change the settings back to the original defaults before you end your turn. Does your opponent gain an advantage during his turn if he gives himself a favorable advantage? I can’t detect any changes in the even/advantage settings as long as I remember to reset the defaults upon moving my last unit. Is there a way to detect this heinous crime?

This is fixed in GS v3.10

i have several games against several players that i wondered at the time how in hell they were having so much stuff even with the beatings i was giving them.

well, i guess some of them were using this little stunt.

Unbelievable ! Can you list the names of the player ??!!

But I think there is a way to avoid this before 3.10 that you can ask your opponent to exchange the password after the pbem finished . Then you will confirm whether your opponent change the original set up .

You can even see it when you login to the last save game. Then you check the current settings and see if they are like you wanted them to be (including the advantage). So you can't hide it if you do anything about the advantage.

I don't really think people do this - who even thought of trying it!

That's the first time I've heard of this, so if anyone was using this against me, I didn't know at all and didn't suspect anything . But Stauffenberg says that it's fixed in 3.1, so it's no longer a problem, I think.

The only thing you could change was the advantage.
