Forbid y-axis wrap please

Hi, do you guys think it would be possible to add a check box in the world creation window to either forbid or allow the wrap of the y-axis? This sometimes irritates me and I would love to be able to turn it off so the world would only wrap on the x-axis.
Thanks for any reply.

As long as it remains an option, I agree

Yes, since with Y-axis wrap, moving past the north pole brings you immediately to the south pole, it's a little crazy making for some.

I second this.
Pandora being a torus-shaped planet is a bit strange to say the least…

I'd have said it's rather a cylinder with rounded edges, isn't it? Anyway, Rok, do you think this is possivle?

I'm sorry, it's low on the priority list.

I still hope it will come to the game some time.

Well, it doesn't break anything gameplay-wise.
It might even be better than being stuck at the poles like in Alpha Centauri.
It just feels a bit… odd
Piruparka:
It's a torus, I'm sure about this one

A cylinder (even with round edges) would imply roughly the same behaviour than a sphere.
Topology can be strange at times…

Here you go, how to go from a Pandora map to a 3D visualization of it:

Here is a nice explanation of how the y-wrapping can indeed still represent a sphere:

I don't claim that this explanation trumps the torus in any way, it's just food for thought. This also shows that this discussion dates way back to the beta days. Oh, and... I too support more options in this area.
