The Slitherine website is selling FoG for $49.99 USD and the Osprey website is selling it for $34.95. Which is right, what's the difference between the two offerings?

Greetings

Both are right. No difference in product.

Amazon are discounting it in the same way as they discount Osprey books.

Originally one benefit of ordering through Slitherine was that one could get a 'Beta' version early and then get the final product all for the $50. With release so close there is less value there.

A$ 50 for the rules and $35 each for army lists. In Melbourne.

So I'm confused. Is the $35 product identical to the $50 product? Or does the $50 product include two supplement army lists while the $35 has no army lists? Or is the extra 15 bucks just so I get a beta copy of the game with the regular book? Thanks,

I believe that the recommended price is $50 but that there are a number of online sellers who are heavily discounting the rules.

Slitherine like many games manufacturers are selling their game at RRP but they are offering early access to the rules as an incentive.

One slight correction. On Amazon US, the "list price" for the FoG rules book is $34.95, and the special pre-order price is $23.97: http://www.amazon.com/Field-Glory-Ancie ... 771&sr=1-1

Cheers,

We are in the UK and our prices are all based on the UK price with a currency conversion. I don't know how Osprey calculate their prices - you'd need to ask them.

much less confusing to just to buy them from the website of a fellow gamer like myself .... who's site in any case is just a thinly disguised front for Amazon anyway ! What could be simpler...

US - http://www.madaxeman.com/general/us_store.htm
UK - http://www.madaxeman.com/FoGshop.htm

(well, what could be cheaper .. which is what counts!)

Cheaper for Aussies to order from Amazon US while the discount is on ~ approx $35au for rules (with shipping) although you have to wait a week or two for delivery. If our conversion rate changes dramatically (improbable) or the discount ends (quite likely) it may become cheaper to buy from your friendly local gaming store.

Really it comes down to how long you can wait :)
