If, like me, you've found that installing the 1.42 patch has resulted in the game basically being broken, here's a useful link where you can get the old 1.30 patch: http://www.gamershell.com/download_99477.shtml

It's a pity to have to do this, because the 1.42 patch seemed to have a a lot of good ideas in it.
