Ive read the rules and i thought they where quite clear but during the Challange in Oxford I saw both interpretations.

Scenario 1 : A unit is in Close combat and a general is in comand range but not with the unit, does he still influence the CT?

Scenario 2: A unit is in Close combat and a general is with the unit but not fighting from the front, does he influence CT for other units in his comand range?

Hi Fredric, here are the references.

Scenario 1. No, a BG in close combat can only count a commander who is with it (Page 147).

Scenario 2. Yes. A commander fighting in the front rank can only influence the BG it is with (Page 129). There is nothing to prevent a commander who is not fighting from influencing other BGs.

I concur - except in sc2 if the other bg being influenced is in close combat - because then we'd refer back to Sc1
