With the BHGS Challenge now done and dusted, Roll Call is next up in the BHGS calendar.

Image

This year we have 2 FoG AM competitions, 25mm and 15mm. Roll Call will be the only event this year where we are looking to run a 25mm event (for FoGAM, FoGR and DBMM) so if you do have some big toys languishing in the attic, this is the event to wheel them out at.

Booking is now open for what, at £19/entry is our lowest priced event of the year.

FoGAM 25mm - 700 points, Open, List Checker Andy Ellis

FoG AM 15mm - Period theme "Eastern Stuff" - Empires of the Dragon armies, plus a few from the other books. The following armies are permitted: All armies from the book "Empires of the Dragon", plus Classical Indian, Graeco Bactrian (can only field the minimum number of Pike), Indo Greek (can only field the minimum number of Pike), Kushan / Indo-Skythian (can only field the minimum number of Pike), Hephalite Huns, Cumans, Pechenegs, Ghaznavid - no Dailami troops permitted (this is supported by the ally restriction in the list), Tatar, Timurids / Black & White Sheep Turcomans. Any Allies can only come from these lists

The venue for Roll Call is;
Holywell School,
Red Lion Close,
Cranfield,
Bedford MK43 0JA .

Just over 2 months to go, and so far we already have...

25mm FoGAM as of today:
Ian Speed
Sylvie Mills
Peter Card
Richard Jeffrey-Cook
Steve Brown
Neil Millar
Paul Bartlett
Steven Hacker

15mm FoGAM as of today:
Graham Briggs
Lance Flint
Keith Pullen
Richard Case
Dave Saunders
David Fairhurst
Lynda Fairhurst
Pete Dalby
JOHN PATRICK
David Morrison
Taylor Robert
David Putt

So, already one of our best 25mm turnouts in recent years, and a strong-looking 15mm field shaping up as well. Quite a few people obviously waiting to see if their granny sends them the £19 Roll Call entry fee instead of an Easter egg this year..!

Booking open through this link

Roll Call is now less than 2 months away, and with 20 more players already booked than last year's final total, we are at having to plan room allocations, table hire and catering more carefully than ever this year.

Both the AM periods are (as you can see) already more than viable, so we are set for a great weekend. If you are planning to attend and haven't yet booked please do so as soon as you can, as this will help us out greatly in our planning!

thanks

tim

Numbers steadily climbing, but still no Ruddock, no Handley, no Evans, Powell or Collins....

I see from another thread that Ruddock has started running his own competitions, setting the themes to suit his own collection of armies and then managing the draw so he can keep his ranking up, but as he can't do that at Roll Call maybe this will be the event where the "nailed-on" Top 10 ranking system sees it's first major overhaul of the year..?

Unless of course 7 of the current top 10 FoGAm players just a bit rubbish at logging onto the PC and clicking this link ?

Are you sure? This was your previous post. I can see both a Flint and a Taylor. Rob just likes to be different.

yeah... the joys of self-submitted name details... oh well!

All anyone really cares about is knocking Ruddock off his perch anyway I guess...:-)

Dave Ruddock alomost certainly won't be there. Your constant abuse has scared him off.

I will, Ian Stewart will, other Dave (Handley) will and Nik Sharp

Best we find out how to use the internet

Maybe we should adopt this objective as one of the guiding principles of the BHGS... ?

Paul

When I introduced my son to competition he just played doubles for a couple of years - in the days when there was a strong DBM doubles circuit. I think playing as a doubles team (even in a singles tournament) is easily the best way to start. I can't believe anyone would seriously object.
