Hi, First TY for a great update the game is on track to becoming the new classic. Now for something I think is very much needed , a research tree. this is needed to guide the player to what components or programs need to be reseached to get to a specific piece of equipment, I noticed that now it takes something more then the Space plane program to get to one crew ballistic capsules. If it is in this update, please let me know where. again ty for all your hard work it is appreciated.

Seconded. Also true for Apollo program. Especially with the very very very small timeframe to do a moon landing there is no room for researching down a wrong path. I have more than once looked at the locked Apollo mission (or lunar missions in general) and wondered why it doesnt say right there "this, this and this kind of mission is still missing before it is possible to open this mission".

Ok, just finished reviewing the Video (7.16) again and found out that I can find the requirements for the program is I press the "program unavailable " tab. Which will give me a path, albeit short term to open that particular program catagory. I think it would still be great if we had a research tree,but it is only a wish.

Found the requirement now in the main section window. Always overlooked it because I went to the Apollo mission window before looking apparently.

Are direct ascent and other lunar programs disabled or is that a bug that the programs cant be opened?

There are still basic requirements before you can open certain catagories, You need to complete earth orbiting probes before the lunar probe catagory will be open, I believe. As soon as a catagory is open you will get a info window alerting you to it. Hope this helps, I too am still exploring 7.16 update.

Earth Orbital Satellite -> Crewed spacecraft programs
Surveyor -> Short Lunar Expeditions programs

Those are currently the only bottlenecks. Notice that there will very probably be some modifications in the future.
