Replacement Experience question

I am confused about a few references I have read regarding experience loss from replacements (Using 3.0). There is a mention in the manual that units lose 5xp per step when taking reinforcements, then another section talks about a 'discount' for the first two steps not causing XP loss. Then I also saw something about the discount only applying in the home country (core area).

So for example, after I invade Poland, if I have units who are damaged to an '8', and I pay to replace them back to 10, do I lose 10xp? Do I have to move them back to original German territory, and then I can replace them to a 10 without XP loss?

It's the latter. In GS v3.01 you can replace from 7 strength without losing XP.

Is 3.01 ready for release yet?

Not officially, but some people have got the files via email so they can test and give feedback before a release.

We haven't got feedback for v3.01 for a long time so it's probably ready to be released once Slitherine / Matrixgames are free to make an updated installer.

As far as I'm aware, yes.
