I have now played CTGW as the Entente two times (starting in 1914 and 1915) and as the Central Powers once (starting in 1914). In all three cases, Bulgaria refused to enter the war just a few turns before it was supposed to do so. What factor could have scared them off? And why cannot they enter the war later if the strategic situation changes? Bulgaria stayed neutral even after Serbia and Romania had been conquered and it was surrounded by Allies.

If CP used poison gas first (international outrage), is one factor, the other is tied to CP NM (educated guess).

Well with Serbia and Romania gone, all they really don't have targets other than Russia and Italy (looking on the bright side)

If Entente use gas first, Bulgaria is more than likely to enter sooner....
