Really good looking game

When I first saw this game I thought ah thats interesting because I have a copy of the very similar Circus Maximus boardgame that we used to really like playing that game as kids years ago (I bought it recently out of nostalgia mainly) and it is very addictive, and I see you game has pretty much everything that board game has - so well done. So yeah I might well buy this at some point when I have some spare cash!

So is it pretty much complete now or are there things you are planning to add yet?

Its a shame I cant get an idea how the campaign plays from the demo guess I will have to read a few reviews instead.

The only question I would have really is why is the download version so much? It would cost me £15.60 to buy the download and yet it only costs me under £20 to get the boxed game with a free download copy thrown in? I might as well get the latter even though I dont want a physical copy. Just dont understand that pricing at all. Gut instinct, looking at this game and other simlar games on Steam etc is that the download price of this game should be around £10-£12 max all in, anything more than that is a bit daft really.

So yes I would love to get this game but the price is putting me off buying it, seriously!

There is a future patch in preparation that adds some requested gameplay aspects, like end race rankings or volume control. About videos and AARs You could watch Das24680 series to get a good idea of how campaigns perform, this is the first episode:

Great news re: patch.
Regarding the volume control, I like how the volume increase or decrease whether one zoom in or zoom out.

Yeah Ive seen that video already. It does look a good game and it makes me encouraged when I here you are still working on improvements. Shame its a bit expensive though but I am verging on buying it, mainly because I love Circus Maximus I just keep forgetting the rules.

Its actually a very fun game, do not be fooled by the simple interface and rather "junior general" style graphics. This game has a solid engine underneath it all, and is really quite capable of delivering very dramatic Ben-Hur style moments.

When I first saw it on Slitherine, I had pretty "meh" feeligns about it, but the demo really convinced me to get it.

It is a bit on the expensive side though.

I've bought it, I also liked the demo, but the main reason I bought it is because I loved the boardgame this was based on. It does make you feel a little bit guilty when you change lanes to deliberately stamp on a dragged driver, but some of the AI drivers can be really annoying in this game! Its also very painful when you lose your best driver as well. I love games like this that can provide lots of emotion whilst you are playing, I often find myself shouting at the monitor when I just cant get past that flipping chariot in front! You dont need graphics to get that kind of enjoyable gameplay, its an old fashioned game like those I used to buy on the Amiga/early 486 PC I had. But they were all great games in their own way, much better than many of the so called 'AAA games' that come out today.
