I've just bought CEaW(downloaded).All is fine just to the screen" downloading game".And ,nothing ,just keeping"downloading game for ever;no crash etc.Do you have seen this problem before?I'm running on Win7.

Are you speaking about the vanilla version (CEAW) or GS v3.0?

The GS v3.0.

I just purchased on the Deal of The Week, I thought the download was taking forever too, but it was working just a long time between each "progress box" to appear until the end when the last 7 or so went quickly.

However when I hit check for update, (I think I do have latest version) I get an error message saying unable to determine version.

Working a long time,please tell me how long?I let it be for more than an hour whitout result.For the "check for update";I got the same result as you.

No it wasn't that long, but I did think it had stopped although I could continue to see the files zipping by and after a couple of minutes the "progress box" would advance one. For what it's worth I am on windows 7 and while my computer is a few years old it does exceed the game's listed requirements.

The very first time you start the game you need to create the map tiles for each zoom level. That will take some time (a minute or so dependent upon CPU power). When you change zoom level it starts again. Time is longest for zoom level 3.

Once the tiles are generated the loading should be fast.

I'm quite sure that it as something related to win 7 because I've tried it on my old pc (win xp) and it's working fine.(But that old pc have some problems and crash often...).

Many players use Windows 7 without any issues so GS v3.0 should work well with Windows 7.

So...What can I do?

Where have you installed the CEAW vanilla game and where have you installed GS v3.0?
