Here is a question that has been bugging me for a while now, and I cannot find a definitive answer in the rules. Perhaps I am obtuse?

How many times can a general use his ability to influence a CMT or a CT in one phase? For instance, if I have an IC with 5 BGs in his command radius can he influence each of their CMTs in the same movement phase? How about CTs in, say, the shooting phase? I know that he must be with the BG in order to influence a CT resulting from close combat (and therefore can only influence one), but what about CTs resulting from a BG routing within 3 MU?

He can influence all in range for a CMT, but only one BG gets the additional + for being with a BG (assuming the general IS with a BG). However, once a general moves in a turn he can no longer influence the CMT. So you can't "stretch" the influence by carrying out CMTs in one part of the line, moving 7", and then doing more CMTs in another part of the line.

Ditto for CTs. Except if a unit is in combat the general's influence will only count if the general is with the BG. However, you could have a general with a BG which is in combat which can influence other non-close combat BGs PROVIDED the general isn't fighting in the front rank.
