I really like the new BA2,been waiting a long time for the east front expansion,having now played the Barbarossa camp' and a number of skirmish games.ive had a look at the points value for the various unit and would make a couple of observations:-
1) some of the german units seem to be a lot cheaper under BA2 v BA,ie panther 183v240,tiger2 226v270 I think the BA points were closer to the mark for these fearsome units,others ie Pz1v have gone up a bit and some obvious errors such as the Jagdpanther now worth a reasonable 201 instead of a mere 147 have been corrected.
2)in comparison the allied units in a number of cases I think are over pointed,for instance the Sherman at 134 is a lot more than the 99 it was in BA for the same vechicle,which I wouldn't say was as good a tank as the pz1vg.The biggest problem I think though is the T34/76 which at 152 points is not too far short of the cost of a panther which far outclasses it.Their are some other cases but maybe a review of relative points costs could be considered.
That said the terrain set gives it a real distinctive feel and the skirmish option is a great addition,some of the unit stats could be writ larger for those of us with less than 20/20 vision.
