Tanks carrying men ...

It would be cool if tanks (especially for the Russians) would be able to transport an infantry unit.

You see this quite a bit in film/pictures where the infantry squads hitch a ride on tanks. I know this was a mod in BA and then when the tanks fired, the troops were kicked off the tank (and the infantry could not move at that point ... unless you unloaded them first).

Playing some bigger skirmishes show how painful it is to move the Russians around is ... perhaps that is truly realistic.

Thoughts?

I know we looked at implementing this, but decided against it. I don't recall the pros and cons we went through for the decision though.

Cheers

In large skirmish games, to get around lack of sufficient transport, I use the advanced option to extend the default 16 turns to 25. My infantry then have time to get into good battle position. A side benefit is that you get to see dusk and some night time. In my last game, in over time and night, I raced an SU152 at the flag (under fire by a Panzer 4f) and captured it. Game over with a victory. I guess in over time mode it is sudden death victory conditions.
