We are working on an addition to skirmish mode to allow selection from prebuilt armies as an alternative to randomised force composition.

If you are interested, please post some of your ideas in this thread for armies to include in the official list. Provide an army name, year(s) of service, and a list of units that make up the army. For each unit type, give a minimum and maximum quantity (to allow for partial force selection) to include in a medium sized force. You can get the full unit list by viewing Battle Academy 2 Early Access\Data\Squads.csv in a spreadsheet application.

Can we also mention say, terrain? Such as

"Kampfgrupe 351 is attacked on Coastal Plains by a massive Soviet Tank force lead by new Models of T-34s"

I am just looking for force lists players would like to see offered in the random map mode on this thread. BA2 will still include traditional campaigns of hand-built scenarios.

Well when I say Coastal Plain, one side of the map should be water, the rest randomized. Same goes if someone says Urban or Rural. This is one of the things I hope for in BA 2, something specific, yet random at the same time!

Thanks for the offer. We are really just aiming to have a handful of options for each side in the next EAP version and fine tune the feature from there. For now, it would be most helpful if you just posted rough compositions of your most-wanted forces.

Is there a limit?

Here is an example which includes both Waffen SS and Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions 1941-45. The month/year used would obviously cut down on this list.

Would it be to hard to create a force selection screen that would let you save the selection in a file so that it can be reused in skirmishes or shared with other people. I like the random forces that are currently available, but having the option to create your own forces and save them for later use can be interesting. The predefined lists are also nice from a realistic point of view, but for skirmishes I prefer variety rather than realism.

I'm not sure that I understand how your lists are meant to translate to a force in a BA2 scenario. Even after filtering by year, the quantity of units available appears like it would be well beyond the scale and capabilities of the game.
