Transports for newly added units?

Bit of a noob question, so if this has been asked (and answered before), then apologies in advance... :?

So I've added several new units to my game and everything went fine with the planes and tanks, but my new infantry can't upgrade to transports. I've searched through the equipment and efx files but I can't seem to find a field to enable it.

No doubt I'm missing something simple here, but so far I haven't found it. Could one of you kind veterans help me out? Please and thank you! :)

Hello iceFlame, I'm assuming you want to use the default transportation options in the game (not anything custom)?

In the equipment file, the penultimate column is for the transport categories a unit can use. There are five standard categories:
land sea rail air glider

'Land' is for the trucks/halftracks, the rest are transport ships/trains/cargo planes/gliders. So if your infantry can't buy any trucks, make sure this option is set correctly. If you are also customizing transports, make sure that there are transport units available in the equipment file with the correct transport category and nationality.

Good luck!

That worked, thank you!

I think what threw me was the 'land' tag wasn't included in the original infantry entry that I selected as a starting base. I went back and looked at the original units and they had transports even though 'land' wasn't specified. So I guess I thought it wasn't necessary.

Or maybe it was a default null entry and I didn't copy the line to the very end, just to the end of the visible info?

Either way it's all good now, so thanks again for the help! :D
