How are your writing skills. Due to the increase in the number of titles in production we are looking to add a couple of writers to the team. Main requirement is knowledge and experience playing our games, possibly well suited to those who have participated in past Beta tests. This is a part time role working from home and there is modest payment involved. If interested drop me a note, mention your skills and experience and I will get back to you

Greetings: February 15, 2014
As an avid gamer with excellent writing and communication skills, I have always been frustrated with the apparent inability of those manual 'writers' of our pc games, to convey simple and clear instructions for the players to learn.
I believe that I possess the ability to present any procedure, concept, or instruction (that I understand) in a clear, concise, and brief manner.
You may sample a light-hearted forum note written by me, per the Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager report about the the new Race to Space campaign that will be included in the final rendition.
Hoping to hear from you,

Hi there,
That link you posted is not responding, so could you forward the following:
I am interested in in writing manuals for Sltiherine. At one time I was in discussions with Ian about writing a proper manual for FOG Digital. I am a very experienced journalist having been published in major newspapers around the world as a correspondent for Reuters. I am working on my second book. My first, a history of Lake Tahoe is still in print and selling well. Most importantly, I used to do all the historical PC wargame reviews for the old CD Mag and have designed several board and tabletop games.
I have some spare time at the moment and can provide some news clips if you like. Let me know if I can help out.

It's an email address. It should open itself in your mail client on most machines, but if it does not then you can just copy and paste the address into your email program to send your details.
Cheers

Ooo my deeter if this was an interview, that's not a very good start.
Quick question Pip, what guidance will the writers be given - is this something you are requiring people to write in their own manner or is it simply a copy typing type exercise.
Also any idea on the financial aspect.

Just an idea.
I would suggest doing a game manual wiki for each game. Lots can contribute, one can edit, rubber stamp and lock down or baseline. If done well, one could even print the thing at home if need be. I have noticed in trying to understand the mechanics of Panzer Corps that a lot of the 'rules or mechanics', which are missing from the PDF, are clarified in interspersed forum posts and not so easily found.
Once again, just an idea for the Slitherine masters to mull over.

Just a note: Davouthojo started a great Wiki for digital Field of Glory. It is useful for FOG players and may serve as a good prototype for other wikis.
Though it is stickied in the FOG forum, here is the link.
