I need install help, please. During the install, I get this error:
sharing violation while accessing Nov2007_d3dx10_36_x86.cab
Actually, the cab file name differs with each attempted install.
I'm on Vista SP 2 with all other system requirements.
Thanks,
DP

Hi,
Are you login to Windows as an administrator?
To check if you are logged into Windows Vista as a user with administrative rights, please:
• open menu Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel
• click "Classic view" in the left pane
• open User accounts
• click "Manage another account"
There will be all user accounts listed on the page. Each account has assigned some status (Administrator, Standard user, etc.). Before installing or reinstalling AVG, or prior to proceeding with any action that requires administrative access, please make sure that you are logged into Windows under an account with the status "Administrator".
If you are not sure under which account you work at the moment, please open the main User Accounts page. The current user is displayed in the right part of the page.

Thanks, VPaulus. I tried logging in as Administrator, but it didn't help.

Does the error occurs before or after this box:

Hi, VPaulus. All is well. It was before that, when it was extracting files. It was a typical Vista SNAFU. I had to change the exe file properties to "unblocked", then turn off User Accounts, then install signed on as The Administrator. When I got to the Options box, I checked them all and it installed just fine.
Thanks,
DP
