Can you tell me how your PBEM system works?

The PBEM++ system allows players to post challenges which are then accepted by an opponent, then play games by grabbing their turn, playing, and uploading back to the server where it goes to their opponent's game list.

Cheers

Its basically an asynchronous multiplayer - this is what some other people are calling this type of system. You never have to be online at the same time as your opponent so play at your own speed in your own time. It works really well for turn based games as you don't have to wait while your opponent moves and can have up to 20 games going with various players.

As a novice with this, is this PBEM system how multiplayer games are played? Is there way to play yourself? I suppose that the more correct gaming term would be "hot seat" but not positive.

thanks,

Yes it is for multiplayer but only in appropriate our turn based games from the last couple of years. Real time games and some turn based games where there are interactions outside your turn are direct head to head play. Some PBEM games support hotsteat.

Isn't there and older PBEM (not PBEM++) system? If so, which does Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa use, PBEM or PBEM++?
