I know I'm being daft but I can't figure out how to load paratroopers onto a plane on the ipad, can anyone help please.

During deployment, or during a normal turn? If during a normal turn, they must be on an airfield. Then, hit the embark/disembark button. During deployment try hitting the air/ground button first.

Also, hover the cursor over the transport tab. It will show how many available transports there are. If there are none of the appropriate type, then you will not be able to load the paratroops into transport.
