Support shooting and Generals

Suppose a foot BG is charged and it has a rear rank that can support shoot in the impact phase and that it has a general declared to be in the front rank - does the general's re-roll bonus apply to the support shooting dice? It wasn't clear to me and I can think of arguments in either direction ("How do you urge someone to shoot straighter" versus "they only keep shooting until the last minute if you support their morale").

Support shooting is treated as part of close combat and hence the general's reroll upgrade does apply.

Another new one that I had never thought about. Perhaps it is reasonable that if the general is there in person, the troops will be more confident and less nervous about receiving the charge. This should help for steadier shooting.

It certainly means that having a general with the mixed spear/bow Bgs (receiving a charge) is a must.
