Hi.
I am a Mac owner with Parallels installed on my MacBookPro.
I was very happy to see today that a Mac version came on the market
but
it seems that the development is totally different (also in Java ? therefore why so different ???).
-> my question:
if I want to have a game regularly updated with mods, ... what'st he best choice:
- buy the mac version
- or buy the PC one and use it under Parallels ? (is it possible ?)
Thanks for your help,
F

I can't really give a definitive answer, but I can say that the Mac version is based entirely on the PC version in terms of the gameplay. The differences in technical terms I can't comment on, as Freeverse did the conversion.

Thanks.
I'll try the mods with the new graphics for the units. Just to test...

But from my personal experience at least multiplayer PC vs Mac version does not work....

ok, but that's not essential for me: I am a 'solo' gamer

Hi!
I finaly took the mac version because it was not possible for me to buy the pc version. I always got an error message.
I always refused to buy this version because I'm afraid that there will be less support for the mac version. (ie. Slitherine release a new patch for the pc and Freeverse don't want to port this patch to the mac version. Or it will take weeks to port it to the mac version.)
I hope I'm wrong.

I also wonder if I should get the Mac or the Windows version. Having the Windows version would allow me to play against Windows users, and also eventually play on a Windows machine...
As anyone try to play with the Windows version on a Mac, using CrossOver?...

On Freeverse forum I found this:

Thats exactly my point.
Should be released within a couple of month. (Maybe never)
and
What will be included in the patch. (Maybe they won't have every fix in it)

Actually I would be really interested in knowing if someone has tried to run the Windows version on a Mac using CrossOver (I'm already using this for some other softwares: it sometimes works fine, but not always...).

I own the PC version and run it on my Dell laptop, and I've run the Mac demo on my iMac. My experience is they perform identically. As for support on the Mac, Freeverse does an excellent job with their games. I do not doubt they'll bring the patch over with professional effort.
