Any update on when this is scheduled for release? And will it be released for iOS right away or will it be a while after?

Can't give you an official date yet, but I can tell you the game is almost feature-complete now at which point we can begin beta testing. Stay tuned :)

This is perhaps a small point, but it seems to follow through in each preview video.

For me, the scale difference between the land & naval unit models is off.
I feel it is not so much the land units are displayed too large, but that the naval units appear relatively too small.
Surely they can be made larger without disrupting the hex size?

Balla. :?

How? I mean unless the hex size is increased (across the board) the ships can`t get bigger without overflowing into the neighboring hexes. I`m guessing the transport ship from the image above probably needs to stay as it is in order to be smaller than the big battleships and carriers that do seem to take an entire hex in length. Might be a wrong perception, but to me the scale between land and sea units seems about the same as it was in PzC, if one ignores the 2d vs 3d setup that is.

Unit icon scale is always a challenge. Simple, static 2D graphics can more easily get away with it because the whole visual style will have an abstracted feeling to it, but the more realistic graphics the more apparent scale differences become.

Smaller units such as destroyers and transports will indeed be forced to a smaller size in order to allow bigger units (battleships) to fit on their hexes too. That said, I've just increased naval unit scale from 1.0 to 1.2 (+20%) and it looks like it still works ok. Another benefit of 3D - no need to re-render a ton of 2D icons whenever something like scale is changed :)

Cruisers/carriers were around 30 to 35 times larger than a major tank, how on earth are you going to get the right scale in a game like this? That's just nitpicking, then you might as well start an argument about the size of the trees in comparison to a tank.

I agree with this. In a graphically well-designed game that plays well, this phenomenon fades away to insignificance, if it was ever noticed at all. Heck, take a look at Civ V sometime, where warriors look like giants defending their cities. Don't notice that either, when I am playing Civ V. The mind adjusts for it and imagination takes over.
