Idle thoughts over coffee.
Why doesn't the campaign start with Poland and just run through every scenario till you get to the end? I know I can play the scenarios individually, but why not with my core troops?
And what are the green and brown highlights in the Campaign tree in the library?

What am I missing... it does? You clearly mean something else but I don't know what!

As hinted, you can play in campaign mode, not only scns alone. In a campaign, your core units will taken over to the next scenario within the cam you play (provided they survive). Just select a new campaign of your choice (preferably 1939 if you want to start in Poland) instead of a pure scneario.
Or do you use AC or AK as standalone without vanilla PanzerCorps? I'm not sure if you get access to the vanilla campaign then.

Thanks for the response and sorry if I wasn't clear. I startd with Fall Weiss in Poland and as I finished each scenario, this segued into the next, introduced by an avuncular, but sinister, General. This continued until I was annihilated in Germany.
However, along the way I missed, Sea Lion40/41, Italy, Gustav Line, Overlord, Lake Balaton. Obviously there was no point in going anywhere, except as a tourist, after Germany
I was just curioius as to why one scenario didn't just follow on to the next until they were all played?

Ahh, I see.
I can't say for sure what the devs had in mind of course, but IMO a reason why the campaign is made like that is simply the idea that the player's performance in certain battles should affect the overall course of the war.
So for example, you cannot play Sealion without winning decisively in France. OTOH if you're successful in Russia and defeat it either 41 or 43 you never get to play Lake Balaton. In some sceanrios of the campaign the outcome may not affect the overall campaign path too much, but at certain crucial points it does...

LOL - if this was a test for Panzer Commanders and a pass or fail I could understand that. But it's a game and I just wanted to play from the start to the finish.
No problem, the devs meant well and I can just play the scenarios that I missed on their own. But I would have preferred to play all the scenarios in the campaign. It's still a great game and keeps me entertained for hours, what more can I ask?

To each his own, but personally, I'd find a campaign that just sent you from Sealion to Stalingrad to defending Berlin to assaulting Washington with no regard for the players performance pretty retarded.
However, I seem to remember somebody actually modded the original campaign to work like that ... but I haven't been able to locate a link. It's been LONG ago.
You can easily mod it yourself though, it's not that hard.
Alternatively (or additionally), you might want to check out the DLCs, though - they do occasionally branch out so you're playing a few (mostly one to three) alternative scenarios, but overall, you get to see most maps no matter what (I guess except it you keep losing badly).
